Some Recent Events our children enjoyed...........
On Tuesday, April 8, 2009 the St. Ann Catholic School Battle of the Books Team defeated teams from St Patrick School and Fayetteville Academy to claim the Championship Trophy!
The schools competed against each other in three rounds of questions about 20 books they have been reading since the beginning of the year. They had to respond with the name of the author and the title of the book to receive the full three points per question. The St Ann's team had several perfect rounds and only missed one question.
Team members are Jacob Austin, Katherine Gamble, Eileen Martinson, Yadira Rodriguez-Cruz, Noah Rossell and Amanda Taheri. Their very dedicated Coach is Mrs. Sharon Fiegle. We applaud these students. We congratulate Mrs. Fiegle and we extend thanks to the team members’ parents for their encouragement and support.

St. Ann's had its annual Spelling Bee for grades 4-8. Three students from each grade competed (those who scored the highest on the pre-test). The competition went down pretty quickly, but the last two competitors (Edgar and Adam) went about 40 rounds.
Edgar went onto the next level and was the winner of the Private school/Home-school competition. He will go onto the district competition later this month. |

2nd place - Adam Crusoe (7th grade), 1st place - Edgar Soto (5th grade), 3rd place - Amanda Taheri (5th grade) |

On Friday Feb 20, 2009, the students in grades Pre-K to 5 saw a performance from StageWorks Theatre called "Imagination Express". The children chose a character, location, action, and plot, for a story and the actors (Jeremy and Lauren) made up a story and used students to act out the parts. This performance was made possible by an Artist In Schools grant that we received from the Arts Council.
